- Hello and welcome to my Witcher 3 New Game Plus walkthrough!
New Game Plus is a slightly different experience than playing the game from scratch, and it can either be easier or more difficult depending on your build and your understanding of the game.
This New Game Plus walkthrough focuses on using my Uber build (which I consider to be the best build possible) to make New Game Plus as easy as possible and make getting that Death March trophy or achievement a piece of cake! If you want more if a challenge, check out some of my deliberately less overpowered builds.
This walkthrough also assumes that you have most, if not all, of the key Alchemy ingredients and potions from your regular playthrough, because Alchemy is a big part of being a powerful Witcher in this game.

I started New Game Plus at level 61 because I wanted level 100 Legendary Witcher gear, but this is FAR from necessary. The build works identically as long as you have the correct gear. If you want to grind the many hours to reach a higher level before starting, check this video out:

Most encounters are easy, so we focus on ability points and build progression more than specifics of combat or encounters.

I'm in the end-game on my first playthrough, prior to Battle Preparations and going through HoS. When I finish it all, I'll definitely be going to do death march NG+.

Lots of tips in here. Already missed out on the taking the root out for extra experience but thanks for also putting the bit in there about the aerondight sword about having to level that up as well. Never did that so need to do that. Hopefully since I got it at level 48 it'll catch up to my level of 55 when I level the sword up the way you talk about
Yeah check Aerondight on the inventory screen, it shows how much the permanent max boost is, and what you currently have
Quick question. So my last trophy I need for the plat is Deathmarch. Would it be easier to do this in new game plus or a clean playthrough?
Much, much easier using this build on New Game Plus. It's insanely easy with this build, which is the best in the game.
Liking the walkthrough a lot, very insightful. On a side note, I would really like to see you showcasing builds with the other mutations, there are so many cool combinations, but everyone just uses Euphoria, the broken mutation. It makes the game boring, in my opinion, you might as well play on "Just the Story" mode. My favorite ones are the combat mutations and Adrenaline Rush, I use all of them on my pure combat feline build, makes the game challenging while also being viable.
Thank you, I appreciate that! I'll probably do some builds with the combat mutations later just for variety. Euphoria is almost a problem in a way because the best builds start and end with that... it's too good because it works with Acquired Tolerance.
There are many other viable Mutations though, like you said. I've already done some non-Euphoria builds like the Metamorphosis one and that is extremely powerful too, and the hybrid Piercing Cold one is more balanced because that Mutation isn't that useful on NG+.
On this NG+ walkthrough I've been switching to Mutated Skin pretty much every time I level up because instead of instakilling enemies it takes 2-3 hits so I can actually level Aerondight up!
@@DPhoenix237 Yeah, a lot of mutations are really good, Euphoria makes them look worse than they really are. Adrenaline Rush and Bloodbath both offer a bigger bonus than Euphoria does, but you have to achieve it, not just drink a couple potions and immediately get ~150% power without any risks at all. The only mutation I don't really like is Second Life, I think CDPR could have come with a better ideia for a mutation that requires so many points and mutagens.
@@archandel7860 Exactly; Euphoria just outclasses everything else. Euphoria's bonus with Acquired Tolerance should always be at least 210%, !as if 240%+ either Skill Switching or Manticore gear. Adrenaline Rush would need to be fighting 12 or more enemies for that and then your get nerfed before you had time to kill them all. Bloodbath your get 250% max if you landed 30 hits without taking damage yourself, after which time a) everything would be dead already and b) you'd have spent most of the fight dodging or using your stamina on Quen anyway.
Piercing Cold is both amazing and fun...for about 20 levels, then Aard stops knocking enemies down and it's not really useful at all. Conductors of Magic can be used for a glass-cannon Igni/Quen build, but Aard and Axii are still useless so it's just spamming 2 signs instead of spamming fast and strong attacks. The other mutations are underwhelming, although Metamorphosis can be extremely good if set up correctly. Just not as good as Euphoria. Ah well, still an amazing game and you can always choose not to use Euphoria if you wish 😁
@@DPhoenix237 Yeah, I Iike to use Euphoria when I try to loot the big cities, it's really fun to obliterate those annoying guards. Right now, I'm doing a combat build, but I think I'll implement some alchemy skills. I like bombs, but you need to sacrifice so many skill slots to make them really good, so I'm not sure yet. Alchemy is just really fun, I can't seem to play the game without it.

You can still do the side quest. Just go to her house and the wounded woman is there.
Having buckthorn doesn't prevent you from talking to Tomira and getting the Lena quest.
It’s a bit late but in my experience having buckthorn in ur inventory does not prevent u from doing the Lena quest
For steel swords in NG+ do you keep upgrading for better stats?Should i just keep the same armor for out most of play through (viper gear)?- Seems
Most enemies have bludgeon attack
I wouldn't say 'most enemies' my friend; they're not uncommon, but it's really only club-Wielding humans, and Elementals & gargoyles for the most part.
If you're using Viper armour then you want to keep Quen up vs Bludgeoning enemies at all times. My Viper Hybrid build uses Griffin School Techniques to have high stamina regeneration for that. This build in the walkthrough doesn't struggle with Bludgeoning at all; it has 90% bludgeoning resistance with Protective Coating active and Arachas decoction at 15% or more.
Hey man just finished playing through blood and wine and finished the game for my first time! Fucking EPIC nearly up there with Skyrim maybe even excedes it! If I want to start to a ng+ and I put all my armor swords and whatever else into stash when can I have access to it in ng+? Do I have to put it in stash at kaer morhen so when I start ng+ I can just grab it straight away?

I assume you throw Levity on your Viper chest piece so you still get your cat school bonuses when you swap to the Viper chest and Manticore trousers for elemental resistance, correct?

Not so important on New Game Plus because depending on starting level you'll usually reach 100 comfortably.

I hate the sound bug when you take a decoction it plays no sound! It's so game breaking.

If you're using this build it's extremely easy, even on Death March. Even with other builds it can be very doable depending on the style of build and your skills and gameplay.

Um, whoops! If you have the full Ursine set and Protective Coating you might actually be able to just go and do the Missing Brother contract and kill Harrisi straight way when you get to Velen. It'll be about 30 levels above you, but with Golden Oriole and maybe Griffin Decoction you might be able to do it. How far into New Game Plus are you?

Yup, I most certainly do. Better balance of resistances than Apex's, more damaging, more versatile.
Tons better defensively than Ditronus' Manticore one, whilst doing similar (virtually identical) damage and having both fast and strong attack trees at once.
They're probably the best two builds other than mine IMO. There are some other very good ones, but I still think my Whirl/Rend/Tank and Viper Hybrids are the best

When should i Start it? After the Main Story or after dlcs?
After DLCs, definitely imo. You want the mutations and gear from Blood and Wine.

When I start new game plus I lose all my greater green, red, blue mutations. Is there anyway to make sure they carry over. Currently playing on Xbox running on patch 1.60.
Sadly not; it's never happened to me so I've never been able to test it.
If you still have a save before starting New Game Plus, I'd suggest going back to that and using your ability points and Mutagens to get all of the mutations, and then use the ability points from NG+ to finish off your skills.
Where is your Grandmaster Ursine Armor from previous game?
It's there, I only wore the Viper armour because it looks better for the opening cutscenes 😁

Later you have to craft the Legendary armours, yeah.
Worst thing I have ever done:
Grind to lvl 100 in order to get the best level 140 armor in NG+.
Starts NG+ at level 100.
All enemies one hit you and take a milklion hits to kill.
Still going to play it with the likeaboss cheat just for the story and views.
I've had the time to do that yet; I don't know if I ever will. It's difficult to gauge if the enemy scaling stats go above level 100 like the swords and armour stats do. If they do then it doesn't really make much sense to do the massive grind.
Plus that 40+ hours it'd take me to grind from 60 to 100 could be better spent doing a playthrough with a different build, or a
playing one of the games I've got in my back catalogue that I'll (possibly) eventually getting round to playing.

The thing is that I am an completionist. When I start a game, I need to finish it. To 100%. It is like my curse :D
What would be a good signs build for ng+?
It's difficult to make a signs build because signs get much less effective the further you get into Ng+. You could do Conductors of Magic, but the only thing you'd be using would be Igni and Quen, and you can do that with Euphoria. You do indeed keep the mutation system.

Why protective coating over poisoned blades??
Protective Coating is one of the absolute best skills in the game; it's a huge reason that this build is able to take on enemies 20+ levels above Geralt's level.

@@abduleleter6699 No worries man, you'll love it! A lot of this New Game Plus stuff won't make sense yet, so it's probably best to start with the episodes of this walkthrough that just start at level 1 if you're wanting to use a guide.
Otherwise just play the game yourself and learn as you go 👍

How did you keep your mutagens?
I have the Game of the Year version, and I've always kept my Mutagens every time I start NG+. I've no idea what causes them to disappear? I suspect that it is if you have the game and the expansions bought separately, but I can't be sure.

@@johnnikoloudis6576 Excellent, much appreciated! If you are going to lose your Mutagens then I would suggest getting as many of the Mutations possible in your regular game BEFORE starting to New Game Plus, and then just use the ability points from the Places of Power in New Game Plus to get the abilities for your build.
If you collect the Places of Power in White Orchard and Velen ASAP, then immediately to to Skellige and get those ones too (like in Episode 2 of the New Game Plus walkthrough) you can get a lot of points very early in NG+, but Red Mutagens are a little harder to come by until later.
Cannot start a NEW GAME + i dunno why?
Could be a couple of things.
1. You have to have the free DLC downloaded, if you're not playing the GOTY or complete edition.
2. You have to have completed the story in the save file that you're trying to use to start New Game Plus from.
3. You're trying to start New Game Plus from a save file that is already on NG+. There is no NG++

How are you supposed to realize / remember that you have to drop ALL of your buckthorn out of ur inventory to have the quest? 😂 😂 this is why you watch the guides.
Idk, although a lot of people have said it worked fine for them without doing it so it's not a major issue 🤷

Idk about the level 100 thing; I only played one playthrough starting at 100, and I played a ton of it out of 9rder and smashed everything to pieces with my Viper Hybrid Metamorphosis build. I suppose it could potentially mess up some of the difficulty as the level scaling is weird. I couldn't properly tell you tbh
